Russian Invasion Appears Oil Driven - Is This A New Reason For WARS?

Looking at the news on TV, it seems that Russia has it's troops kind of sitting still in the country of Georgia. The commentary was not quite clear, but it seems that there is an oil connection in there somewhere, I think it might have been relative to the moving of oil from oilfields to wherever it goes. Not quite as blatant as pretending there are mass destruction weapons, but still an invasion.

So, it might be that the more peaceful places to live in the next little while will be the ones that have no oil, and across which no oil is transported.

The world is moving from wars being created to impose political beliefs, and religious beliefs, to simple acts that might be seen by some as theft. The result of this will be to negate the value of any oil sale contracts, as such things will only be valid for those with the war machine to enforce possession.

This method of gaining oilfield rights could also be the one factor that would later, in a few years, bring China and the US and/or Russia into conflict.

What you have here is a classic case of "John down the block got a new fence, so I shall put one up to."

Putin, not to be outdone, needed a trigger, a staging point, a reason to flex new found Russian economic prowless. God forbid the Kremlin.. err oops! I mean the Russian parlament productivly alocate their resources into rebuilding *productivly* their western bloc through diplomatic relations.

Emperor George gets a new oil field and gets away with it? Why not Czar Putin!? and of course... he will. Once again, the EU and NATO (which will forever be hardpressed with 5 *all-powerful* and *all knowing* veto members, one being the US and another being Russia) will just sit and sadly wag their fingers. Tsk Tsk Russia, give the ball back to poor little Georgia.

There is something frusterating giving a total veto power in world affairs to expansionist wanna-be empires who are lead by thugs with oil drenched $'s instead of eyeballs. Like one of those goofy, evil-moustached, top-hat, industrialist from the 1930's Micky Mouse cartoons. Rubbing their hands together and grinning as he awaits the train to run over the maiden tied to the tracks (Georgian Citizens).

I say the only country at this stage of global politics who has earned the right to Veto power is Sweeden. Those guys seem to always get it right.
