It is interesting the way things have gone as far as wheelchairs go, at least during my lifetime. When I was young, if we saw someone in a wheelchair they were normally almost completely incapacitated, maybe suffering from spinal injury, or that kind of problem. Then, a few years ago, we started to see what they call 'scooters' appear. There are a lot of people who use a scooter or scooter type of wheelchair who are not fully incapacitated. We all get to the point where we just need a little help, and the difference to our lives will be massive - I am currently wearing glasses, for instance, yet for most of my life, my eyesight was not just good, but almost spectacular!
